Magical Mermaid with Watercolor Pencils and Wink of Stella

It's been a hot minute, ahem, well maybe several months, ahem since I've been in the blogging business. I hope you've been well :) I've had several major events going on in my extended family and just couldn't get into any creative space, much less blog about it. Today, I think I broke through some of the fog and actually sat down just to play with a set I've had for several months. I think it is just so mesmerizing...Magical Mermaid. It's such a sweet understated stamp set with so many possibilities.
Coming out of a fog, I did some of my favorite kind of stamping: stamp in black ink and color with watercolor pencils, then blend with Wink of Stella in clear, all on simple white cardstock.
Oh, it sparkles and shines and is SO lovely! I'm not sure the pictures do it justice...and I took the picture after the sun went down (who is with me longing for LONG summer days and daylight into the evening hours?). So it is a little dark.
I literally used all kinds of colors and thought of each mermaid having her own markings on her tail. I used Calypso Coral, and Rich Razzelberry, then filled in with some Melon Mambo, and used the Bermuda Bay and Pacific Point blues, then for her hair, Daffodil Delight and Bermuda Bay, with a hint of Expresso. I just kept coloring and blending while I was coloring. The pencils blend so easily, layering one on top of the other. I love mixing colors, it's fun to see what new colors I can create. I did use the Lots of Happy Card Kit for the Lemon-Lime twist pencil. It's only available in this kit. (Seriously, it's a great card kit AND you get the additional pencils!)
